and i agree with your apple sentiments. though i am a year-round apple consumer. have you eaten jazz apples? they're a hybrid of braeburn and gala (my 2 faves). they're from new zealand so not very locavore-friendly but, as someone who eats an average of 2 apples a day, i let this slide. i'm also not a locavore.
